Civil Engineer (1994); PhD in Structural Engineering (1998); Assistant Professor of Structural Engineering at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Naples (2000); Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Chieti/Pescara (2005); Professor of "Theory and Design of Steel Structures" since 2002 at the Faculty of the University of Naples Federico II; Professor of “Structural Engineering” at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Chieti/Pescara since 2004.
Member of many national and international committees, such as:

  1. CEN/TC250/SC9 Committee "Aluminium Alloy Structures" as Expert in the PT 1999-1-2 “Fire design” and 1999-1-1 "Connections";
  2. CEN/TC250/SC3 Committee "Steel Structures" as Expert in the PT 1993-1-4 "Silos";
  3. Italian UNI-SC3 Committee "Steel Structures".
  4. National Committee UNI-CIS  “Structural resistance under fire”. 
  5. Vice-chairman of WG2 “Structural Integrity under Exceptional Loading”, within the European research project COST C12 “Improving Buildings’ Structural Quality by New Technologies”;
  6. Technical coordinator of “Earthquake Protection of Historical Buildings by Reversible Mixed Technologies” PROHITECH research project, 6FP of European Commission (2004-2007).

Involved in a number of research projects, mainly dealing with, steel structures, aluminium structures, timber structures, earthquake and fire design. In such fields he is author of more than 180 papers, published in national and international scientific journals and conference proceedings.
