SHORT RESUME OF PROF. VINCENZO PILUSO 

  • Master of Science (cum laude) in Hydraulic Engineering in 1987 and Ph.D. in Structural Engineering in 1992;
  • Research Associate from 1991 to 1998 and Associate Professor at the University of Salerno from 1998 to 2000;
  • Full Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Salerno, since 2001 where he teaches "Theory and Design of Bridges" and "Design of Structures";
  • Full Member and Secretary of ECCS (European Convention for Constructional Steelwork) Technical Committee TC13 "Seismic Design" since 1994;
  • NTC (National Technical Contact) for Eurocode 3, part 1.3 "Bridges"
  • member of the Project Team for the development of the European Code  EN 1993-4-3 "Eurocode 3: Design of Steel Structures - Part 4-3: Silos, Tanks and Pipelines";
  • author of more than 150 papers in International Refereed Journals and International and National Conferences;
  • his research activity in the field of seismic engineering has been internationally recognized as testified by the publication of the book "Theory and Design of Seismic Resistant Steel Frames" (co-authored by Prof. F.M. Mazzolani), E & FN Spon, London, 1996;
  • his research activity in the field of structural steel connections has been internationally recognized as testified by the publication of the book "Structural Steel Semirigid Connections" (co-authored by C. Faella and G. Rizzano), CRC Press, Florida, U.S.A, 2000.
